Yellow pine is one of the strongest, hardest softwoods, yellowish to light brown with a pronounced grain. It holds fasteners well and stands up to wear, so it's used for shelving, stair treads, workbenches, trim and rustic furniture. We carry it in 4/4, sold by the board foot.
