Hard Maple

Hard maple is one of the hardest domestic hardwoods: pale cream to light reddish brown, with a fine, even grain. It stands up to wear, so it's the standard for cutting boards, butcher block, countertops, workbench tops, cabinets and furniture. Sharp tools keep it from burning. We carry it in 4/4, 5/4, 6/4 and 8/4, in select and better (S&B) and shorts, sold by the board foot, plus thin 1/4" and 1/2" stock sold by the square foot.
