Purpleheart

Purpleheart is a dense South American hardwood that's brown when freshly cut and turns a striking purple with exposure to air and light, mellowing toward a deeper brown over the years. It's hard, strong and stiff, and is used for accent strips, cutting boards, inlay, boxes and furniture details. We carry it in 4/4 and in thin 1/4" stock, select and better (S&B) grade. Imported, and sold by the board foot.
