Teak

Teak is the benchmark wood for boats and outdoor furniture: a golden to medium brown hardwood whose natural oils help it resist moisture, rot and insects. It's very stable, and left unfinished outdoors it weathers to a silvery grey. The oils and silica dull tools quickly, so use sharp carbide. We carry it in 4/4 and in thin 1/4" stock. Imported, and sold by the board foot.
