Birch

Birch is a hard, strong, fine-grained hardwood, light cream to reddish brown, often used where you'd consider maple. It machines well and takes paint and clear finishes evenly, and it's a common choice for cabinets, furniture, doors and trim. We carry it in 4/4, 5/4, 6/4 and 8/4, select and better (S&B), sold by the board foot, plus thin 1/4" and 1/2" stock sold by the square foot.
