Cherry

Cherry is a fine-grained American hardwood that starts a light pinkish brown and darkens to a deep reddish brown with light and age. It machines and sands to a smooth surface, which makes it a classic for furniture, cabinetry and trim; it can blotch under stain, so many woodworkers let it darken naturally. We carry it in 4/4, 5/4, 6/4 and 8/4, in select and better (S&B) and shorts, sold by the board foot, plus thin 1/4" and 1/2" stock sold by the square foot.
